An individual can easily find out if he or she has hemorrhoids because the hemorrhoid symptoms are clear. The ano-rectal pain that hemorrhoids bring is the main diagnosis- that is why it is easily detectable. When a person is diagnosed with hemorrhoids, there are gauntlets of medical terms that will be faced and it’s a right idea to be familiar with them. If you don’t know the hemorrhoid symptoms, how can you know if you have hemorrhoids? These symptoms can be called the ano-rectal problems that face, when hemorrhoids develop in you.

Common Problems in the Anus and Rectum

You will likely suffer from fissures and fistulae when you develop hemorrhoids. The skin of our anal region is very thin, thinner than even the skin of our vagina or upper epidermis. Thus, it’s easy to develop fissures or cracks on the anal wall which develop into fistulas with much strain and friction.

Prolonged constipation is a common cause, but a popular reason is anal intercourse. You may also develop abscesses and discomfort in the area concerned. Itchiness and a burning sensation in these areas is a very common symptom that you can identify very easily. An oozing of blood can happen if your condition has become serious. Still, there are two types of hemorrhoids and apart from these common hemorrhoid symptoms there are others which distinguish one from the other.

Symptoms of External Hemorrhoids

The area outside of the anus will have lumps if you have external hemorrhoids. Because of these swellings which are hard, the mere act of sitting down or defecating will result in much pain. This lump forms due to the clotting of blood around the anus and the rectal orifice. This condition of a blood clot forming a swelling outside your anus is usually called a thrombosed hemorrhoid in diagnostic terms. Enlargement and the protrusion of hemorrhoids outside the body can happen though. These should be set apart from external hemorrhoids however. If you have the hemorrhoid symptoms mentioned above, it means you have a case of external hemorrhoids.

Internal Hemorrhoids- Its Symptoms

There are other symptoms to keep an eye out for in case you suffer from the common symptoms but not all the hemorrhoid symptoms. One symptom is signs of blood when you wipe your anus with a clean tissue. Another symptom is bloody feces when you go to the toilet. It you have both of these symptoms, then it’s quite likely that you are suffering from internal hemorrhoids. It’s even possible to form an enlarged internal hemorrhoid and have it forced outside of your anus. This condition cannot be mixed up with the condition of external hemorrhoid (as indicated previously).

You should then watch out for hemorrhoid symptoms and consult a doctor soon as you see them. Always remember that a doctor can help but to a particular extent, you will have to inculcate good diet habits and maintain hygiene if you want to get rid of this problem permanently.
